Penn Girls XC Finishes Second at New Prairie Invite

The Lady Kingsmen Cross Country team is gaining state recognition after an impressive showing at the New Prairie Invitational on Saturday, September 17.

Penn finished second place, only two points behind state-ranked Valpo, in the girls AAA race. The Kingsmen scored 122 points with an average time of 20:10.

Junior Mary Eubank placed fourth in the meet with a new personal record of 18:58.90.

Ellie Stabnik placed 12th with a time of 19:55.90 and Julia Economou placed 18th with a time of 20:05.20.

The Lady Kingsmen also took second place in the JV race, scoring 51 points with an average time of 23:14.

Some of the standout runners were Kaylie Hanyzewski with a place of 4th and a time of 22:40.10, Noralee Moock with a place of 7th and a time of 23:14.50, and Sia Grewal with a place of 8th and a time of 23:14.50.

The Lady Kingsmen next travel to Huntington University next Saturday to compete in the New Haven Invitational.
