Getting To Know: Julia Economou

Julia Economou is a standout athlete for the Lady Kingsmen. This is her senior season of track and cross country.

Where do you see yourself in 4 years, cross country wise?

“I hope I see myself competing collegiately at the Division I level, possibly trying to get under an 18-minute 5k.”

What inspires you to always do your best while running?

“When I’m running, I’m inspired to achieve the goals I set for myself, time-wise and looking to go to a college, and by my teammates.”

How do want you want to be remembered once you graduate?

“Once I graduate, I hope to be remembered as a leader but also as a good teammate.”

When things got hard, how did you get through it?

“When things get hard, I remind myself what I’m running for and how much it means to be which inspires me to keep going.”

Who inspires you to chase your dream?

” My prior teammate Julia Smith, who now runs at IUPUI, inspires me to chase my dreams by seeing how her hard work paid off and what she continues to keep accomplishing.”
