Penn Boys Track beats Mishawaka and Clay

The Penn Boys Track and Field team kicked off the outdoor track season by defeating Mishawaka and South Bend Clay on Tuesday, 87 to 73. Penn dominated most events throughout the meet as they captured blue ribbons in multiple track events, including the 3200-meter relay, the 100-meter dash, the 400-meter relay, the 800-meter run, and the 3200-meter run.

The 3200-meter relay winners consisted of the team of Chad Piatt, Tye Zahner, Ricky Chapple, and Colton Shail, who turned in a time of 8:31.

Andy Doty took home the individual title for the 100m dash with a time of 11.3.

The 400-meter relay consisted of Noah Gefri, Hayden Hurn, Dorian Clayton, and Andy Doty.

Colton Shail won the 800-meter run and Chad Piatt was victorious in the 3200-meter run.

The field events also dominated by winning five of the six events, including discus, long jump, high jump, and pole vault.

Caden Paquette won discus with a throw of 146-7. Noah Gefri won the long jump event with a jump of 20-9.75 and Kevin Krutsch claimed the high jump title with a leap of 6-4.

Dominic Nipper dominated the pole vault competition with a height of 12 feet.
