Girls Track: Penn places second vs. Mishawaka and Clay

The Penn Girls Track and Field team started its outdoor season off with a second-place finish in a meet with Mishawaka and South Bend Clay.

Penn earned blue ribbons in the 3200-meter relay, the 400-meter relay, the 400-meter dash, the 800-meter run, and the 1600-meter relay.

The team of Bre Enyeart, Nicole Marshall, Ragan Redding and Molly Pooler claimed the 3200-meter relay title with a finishing time of 10:25.40.

Maya Towns, Janusha Cooray, Sydney Domal, and Chloe Cripe won the 400-meter relay with a time of 52.9 seconds.

Jemmia Pennix claimed the 400-meter dash title, while Nicole Marshall won the 800-meter run.

The winning 1600-meter relay team consisted of Nicole Marshall, Nourra Miss, Jemmia Pennix, and Bre Enyeart with a time of 4:11.7.

Penn also took home three out of five field event victories, including shot put, long jump, and pole vault.

Abbi Garwood claimed the victory for shot put with a throw of 35-7.5.

The long jump was won by Sydney Domal with a jump of 15-6.75 and the pole vault was conquered by Kelsey Funkhouser with a height of 8 feet.
