Football: Laporte Slicers defeat Penn Kingsmen in OT

The LaPorte Slicers and the Penn Kingsmen football teams faced off on Friday, Aug. 27, at TCU Freed Field at Penn High School. The Slicers’ running back Collin Bergquist scored a 1-yard touchdown run in overtime to give LaPorte the advantage in a 21-14 victory.

Kingsmen highlights:

• Running backs Josiah Williams (6 yard run) and Alec Hardrict (25 yard run) both scored touchdowns for the Kingsmen.
• Ryne Buckley completed 4-of-8 passes for 52 yards.
• Zach Lane recorded the most yards gained on the ground for the Kingsmen, rolling up 89 yards on 20 carries.
