Basketball: Penn boasts strong presence in Michiana McDonald’s All-Star Game

Penn High’s Kingsmen will have a strong presence at the Michiana McDonald’s All-Star Game, which will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.

The Girls All-Star Game, which is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. at Bethel College, features Penn’s Kenzie Kilmer, Reganne Pate and Antreese Shelton.

The Boys All-Star Game, which is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m. at Bethel College, features Penn’s Noah Applegate, Beau Ludwick and Drew Lutz.

The price of admission is $6 for adults and $2 for students.

Penn’s Girls posted a 25-1 record in 2018-2019, winning a Sectional Championship.

Kilmer, a 5-foot-9 Senior Guard who committed to Taylor University, averaged 8.3 points a game for the Kingsmen. She was on Penn’s 2016 State Championship Team as a freshman.

Pate, a 5-foot-8 Junior Guard, led the state with 100 three-pointers and also led the state by hitting 52 percent of her three-point shot attempts. She averaged 12.8 points a game.

Shelton, a 6-2 Junior Forward, averaged 6.0 points and 4.9 rebounds a game.

The Penn Boys Basketball Team posted a 24-4 record in 2018-2019, winning Sectional and Regional Championships to reach the Class 4-A Final Four.

Noah Applegate is a 6-foot-6 Senior Wing who is committed to Hillsdale College. He is the All-Time leading scorer at Penn with 1,709 points. He averaged 20.2 points and 8.4 rebounds a game.

Beau Ludwick, a 6-foot-2 Senior Wing, is committed to Holy Cross College. He averaged 11.6 points and 5.6 rebounds a game.

Drew Lutz, a 6-foot-1 Senior Point Guard, is committed to Bethel College. He averaged 18.8 points and 7.5 assists a game.
