Girls Soccer: Kingsmen show out on Senior Night

The No. 6 Penn Kingsmen Girls Soccer Team celebrated Senior Night with a 5-1 victory against the Elkhart Lions on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The Kingsmen were unsure what the result would be coming into the game. However, when the game began, the Kingsmen quickly took over.

Maddy Johnson a freshman midfielder, was a key player this game, scoring two goals back-to-back, increasing the Kingsmen lead 3-0. Soon after her goals, she helped her teammate by delivering an assist.

The Kingsmen got on the board after a PK was carefully placed by senior leader defender, Malaika Waithaka. Soon after Maddy Johnson blasted her two goals into the back of the net, followed by junior forward Anika Guenther. The last goal for the Kingsmen was delivered by junior Anna Remington, assisted by sophomore Zoya Turk.

The Kingsmen had a 4-0 lead before the Lions joined them on the board.

The Kingsmen finished the game with a score of 5-1, showing that they can put up a good fight. This was a great boost as the Kingsmen have a big week ahead. This increased the Penn team to a 9-1 record overall, and a 2-0 NIC.

JV: Penn 9, Elkhart 0.
