What is the most important lesson you’ve learned through Athletics?: The most important lesson I’ve learned from athletics is to not take life for granted because time flies and eventually it’s over and all you’ll have is the memories.
What are your pre-game rituals?: My pre-game rituals are hanging with the team and talking about our day while we go get food and listening to music in the locker room.
Who is a player (at any level) you look up to, and why?: A player I look up to is Lexi Sun. Lexi plays at Nebraska in the Big 10. I look up to her because she plays the same position I do and is not only an amazing volleyball player, but also an amazing person, teammate, and leader.
What do you love about representing Penn High School?: What I love about representing Penn High School is that me and my team are all very hard workers, not only in volleyball but also academically. We all strive to be the best we can be which is not only helpful now, but for our future as well.
What traits do you love in a team leader?: The traits I love in a team leader are being able to hold the team and themselves accountable when mistakes are made but also being the biggest cheerleader when the best things happen.
What advice would you give a freshman about Penn Athletics?: Advice I would give to a freshman is that you can’t expect to go far and be your best if you aren’t putting in full effort. Penn is very competitive and if you want to reach your best potential, you’ll only get there if you push yourself and your teammates.
What is your favorite sports movie, and why?: My favorite sports movie is “The Blind Side” because it shows how you can get bad grades and not be the best on the team but persevere and get the grade requirements while trying to improve in your sport and trying to deal with a troubled past and home life. It shows that with hard work and determination that you can do anything you set your mind to.
What is your favorite pig-out food?: My favorite pig-out food is either any kind of pasta or sushi.
What do you love about your sport?: The thing that I love most about my sport is how close I am with every single person on the team. It truly feels like a family this year and I couldn’t be more thankful for them.
If you could have lunch with any living person, who would it be, and what would you talk about?: If I could have lunch with any living person it would be Adam Sandler. I would ask him about his life and I would want to bring up how his fame never changed how he dressed and acted in the public eye. He always stayed true to himself.
