Hockey: Penn JV qualifies for Class 1-A in Varsity State Tournament

The Penn JV Hockey Team has had a remarkable year under first-year head coach Mark Crawford, going 32-3-5 and qualifying for the Varsity Class 1-A State Tournament.

The Kingsmen JV Team opens the Class 1-A State Tournament action as the No. 5 seed on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, against Lake Central in Fort Wayne.

Penn JV posted an undefeated record in JV league play, along with posting a 4-0-1 record against varsity competition. Penn beat Culver Varsity B twice and earned an overtime win against Valpo, a 3-1 win against Crown Point, and a 2-2 tie with Hamilton Southeastern Varsity B.

The Kingsmen JV Hockey Team is led by leading scorers Grady Harrel, who leads the state in scoring, Finn O’Donnell and Mason Mauer.
