Boys Basketball: Marian beats Penn 70-53

Penn’s hopes of clinching a share of the Northern Indiana Conference Boys Basketball Championship were placed on hold, as Marian scored a 70-53 victory against the Kingsmen on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019.

Penn, ranked No. 5 in Class 4-A, is 10-1 in the NIC and 16-3 overall. Marian, ranked No. 7 in Class 3-A, is 9-1 in the NIC and 15-3 overall.

Penn plays at Plymouth on Saturday, Feb. 16, in a non-conference game. The Kingsmen can claim a share of the NIC crown at Jimtown on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Noah Applegate led Penn with 21 points. Drew Lutz and Beau Ludwick scored 12 points each.
