Penn’s 14-2 run to close the game sinks Pirates

Penn High’s Kingsmen used a 14-2 run to close out the game and sink the Merrillville Pirates, 78-65, in high school basketball on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019.

The Kingsmen close out the regular season with a 19-3 record.

Next up for the Kingsmen is a Sectional showdown against South Bend Riley (18-4) on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at Penn.

Noah Applegate paced Penn’s effort against Merrillville with 25 points.

Beau Ludwick lit up the scoreboard for 21 points.

Drew Lutz scored 19 points and dished out 10 assists.

Kegan Hoskins worked for seven points and nine rebounds.
