Nick Ftergiotis is a senior for the Kingsmen Lacrosse team.
How long have you been playing Lacrosse?: This upcoming season will be my sixth Lacrosse season.
What position do you play in Lacrosse?: I technically play midfield but my main focus is always on face-offs.
Do you have any pregame superstitions, and if so what are they?: I don’t have any superstitions, I think that if we lose, it’s our own fault and no “outside power.”
What is the weirdest thing to ever happen to you in a game?: When I used to play goalie freshman year. In the last three minutes we got so many penalties we were playing 3-on-6. Crazy.
Is there a team that you can not wait to play against this year?: Jimtown.
Do you have a favorite memory from the time that you have played Penn Lacrosse?: In eighth grade, we stayed at a hotel in Ann Arbor for a tournament. We met probable the funniest guy I’ve ever met.
Being a senior this year, what is the role you play on the team, and the senior group?: I think that I play a good leader part of this upcoming team, speaking out on things that someone or others are doing wrong and helping them to fix problems. I lead the face-offs drills and warm-ups as well.
What are your personal goals for this season?: My goals are to go at least 70% on faceoffs this season against the good teams.
What are your goals for the team this season?” Hopefully, we go to the state finals. If not, I want to be the kings of the county and beat all the local teams.
What advice would you give to a freshman player that you wish you knew when you were a freshman?: Be confident and listen. The worst problem is when kids have skills but are too scared to mess up. Coaches like it more when you try and mess up than not try at all. Always learn.
