On Thursday, May 4 the Unified Track team celebrated their senior class. Penn ran against Mishawaka, South Bend Riley and South Bend Adams, dominating the track while celebrating the people who have invested time into the program.
Senior Leader Aidan Smies-Mendez says senior night was great.
“It was really just very surreal, I remember joining Unified Track as a sophomore and watching senior night, figuring I still had so much time. Now I’m a senior and being there with all my friends that I’ve made throughout the past three years was awesome,” Smies-Mendez says.
Junior Cam Pozanski, speaks about his experience with Unified Track this season, “It’s great to be a part of such a welcoming community where everyone is so nice and supportive of each other”.
The Unified Track team has had a very successful season. Dominating even when scores are not recorded.
Junior Ebba Fox states, “We have been performing extremely well during meets this season. Even more importantly we have grown together as a family and made incredible connections. Practice is such a positive environment and I am excited to finish the season out strong”.
The Unified Track team will continue their season Monday May 8 running against Goshen.
