What are some of your pre-game rituals?: I like to get a good night’s sleep before every game and lay my jersey out the night before. When I get to the game I like to juggle pass with my teammates or just mess around with a ball before the team warm ups start.

Who is a player (at any level) you look up to, and why?: I look up to Mason Greenwood because he was able to be successful at one of the biggest clubs in the world in the most competitive league in the world at the age of 19-20.

What challenges do you face being a sophomore on varsity?: I am typically playing opponents that are bigger and have more high school soccer experience than me.

How were you able to become such a key player to the program so early in your high school career?: Staying consistent going to summer workouts and training. Watching soccer and being able to recognize the game has helped me. Playing club soccer at a competitive level helped with technical skills and experience of playing against players who are better than me.

What goals do you have for yourself in soccer and the future of the soccer program here at Penn?: The end goal for my career at Penn and my club Junior Irish to win state at both and be a key player in both teams. I don’t have much interest in continuing my career after high school though.

What do you love about the game of soccer?: I love how the game connects players, coaches, and fans all over the world and that there is opportunity for everyone to play. I love how fast-paced the game is and when it is played right, it flows perfectly.

What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of soccer?: I spend time with my family and friends. I love to ski in the winter and be at a lake in the summer.

What advice would you give a freshman about Penn Athletics?: I would tell the freshmen to just trust the process, the coaches know what they are doing and you will get your chance to show them your talent and ability.

Who was someone who influenced you and your soccer journey and how did they help you become the player you are today?: I would say my brother and sister who also played soccer for Penn. I would play soccer with my sister in my backyard all the time. My brother and I still play soccer tennis together whenever he is home, this really helped improve my touch. They also helped motivate me because they were both captains of their team and I want to be a leader like they were.

Can you describe your most memorable moment on the field?: It was the second State Cup preliminary game and we needed a win to advance to semi-state. We had scored with 10 minutes left in the game and that was the most excited I’d ever been. The final 10 minutes of that game felt like 60 minutes because we all worked so hard on defense. We ended up winning with the final score being 1-0.
