Getting to Know: Andre Gomez

Andre Gomez is a four-year starter for the Penn Boys’ Soccer team. 

 

How has the start of the season gone for you so far?

It has started off pretty slow and with the change of playing a new position, I’m just trying to get back into rhythm. 

 

What have you seen to be the team’s biggest strengths so far?

The team’s speed up top has done well for us so far.

 

What are you guys still working on? 

The team switching to a new formation has been a big change this year .

 

What are your expectations this year for your senior season? 

I think we can make a state run again.

 

How has being a leader this year as a senior made you feel about the kids coming up in the younger grades.

I see a lot of potential for the upcoming years and am excited to see what they can accomplish.

 

What are your personal goals for this season?

I would really like to score 20 goals and get 20 assists. I think that would be a good goal for me.

 

Recruiting is heating up as the season goes on, What would be your dream school to go play at

North Carolina has always been at the top of my list at school’s I would like to attend. 

 

What has been your favorite memory being on the Penn Soccer team?

Starting varsity as a freshman was very special and something unforgettable.

 

How do you balance life between school and practice everyday with soccer? 

I try to take advantage of my time off and put a lot of effort and care into resting my body and mind

 

Would you like to say anything to the fans to get them hyped up and to come to the games?

Come out and support us at our home games because we have the chance to do something great.
