Penn Baseball Loses to Carroll

Penn Boys Baseball lost to Fort Wayne Carroll on Apr. 7.

The rocky start to the season has been a concern to several of the varsity players. This comes after the Kingsmen won the State Championship last year.

Senior Cooper Hums says that hitting is a struggle for them and they need to get better at the plate if they want to have a chance of going back to State this year

Junior R.J. Cromartie, committed to play for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, says he thinks if we were able to get big hits in big situations where we needed them that could have helped.

From a sideline view, Joe Trenery is an injured player who is committed to Purdue.

“Lehman threw very well, Campbell came in and shut down Carroll in the later innings. Had a miss communication play in the first which was the only run to be scored the whole game. The balls were not dropping in our favor, Out fielders did their job but we could not get the sticks hot,” Trenery said.

The Baseball team next takes on Carmel on Saturday, Apr. 8.
