Volleyball: Kingsmen eye Semi-state title

After an exciting Regional Championship victory, the Penn girls volleyball team will play in the Semi-state in hopes of advance to the State Championship Match.

The Kingsmen will take on Hamilton Southeastern at Huntington North this Saturday at noon in the Class 4-A Semi-state first round.

Going into this game, the Kingsmen overall record is 25-5. Penn is ranked No. 12 in Indiana. The Kingsmen rallied from trailing two sets to none to defeat Chesterton 3-2. Chesterton beat Penn twice in the regular season.

HSE is 31-2 and ranked No. 1 in Indiana.

The Semi-state starts at 10 a.m. with Crown Point taking on Fort Wayne Carroll.

The Semi-state Championship match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Huntington North, with the Penn-Hamilton SE winner playing the Crown Point-Carroll winner.
