Emma Pratt is a returning junior for the Penn softball team. With the season upcoming, the team is putting in work in practice and Pratt is taking on a new role being a junior.
“Emma is a junior who plays both catcher and corner for us,” Penn Softball Head Coach Beth Zachary said. “She has a powerful bat and a great game IQ. Emma is a quiet but steading and consistent teammate who brings calm and lighthearted fun to our team.”
Pratt started the season on JV last year with 7-of-11 in 14 plate appearances including three doubles and a triple, driving in six runs.
Pratt is playing a key role in helping the 2026 Kingsmen forge their identity.
“We have been trying to connect as a team as we lost a lot of seniors last year and have almost a whole new team,” Pratt said. “Our big goal for every season is making it to state and winning it. Winning state would be a very successful season, but just having fun playing together is a success for us.”
Pratt is looking forward to taking a leadership role this season.
“I’m more involved this year and have to be more of a leader for some of the younger girls who haven’t been here before,” Pratt said.
