The Lady Kingsmen wrestlers and 29 other schools represented Sarah Hildebrant in the first IHSAA meet on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Penn. Penn has a new girls’ wrestling coach, Amy Hildebrant, and they are looking for a good start to the season. Before the meet started Sarah was represented with the Penn Wrestling Hall of Fame.

“This is only the second year of doing this event. It feels amazing to have this sport recognized by the IHSAA now; it is long overdue,” says Brad Harper, the head coach of boys’ wrestling.

When asked how she prepared for this meet Andrea Sanchez-Enciso Penn’s 130-pound varsity wrestler said,  “I did a lot of rehab and ultrasound my shoulder so it wouldn’t hurt and then I prayed for the well-being of my teammates”

Out of the 29 schools Mooresville placed 1st with 213 points, Merrillville placed 2nd with 177 points, and Penn placed 3rd with 167 points.
