Penn Girls Flag Football carved its name into the Hoosier State History Books by winning Indiana’s first high school girls flag football state championship.

The Kingsmen, ranked No. 1 in the nation by MaxPreps, won the crown by beating Lawrence North, 35-12, in the state championship match. Penn finishes the season 13-0.

Penn’s Alivia Dawson intercepted four passes, scored one TD, and was named the Player of the Match.

Quarterback Quinn Driscoll threw three TD passes and scored one rushing TD.
Lauren Petras had two receiving TDs.
Kami Bauer scored one rushing TD.
Macy Little intercepted a pass.
“The strengths of our team were having outstanding leadership from our upperclassmen,” Kingsmen head coach Jerimiah Maggart said. “These girls are alphas in the weight room and transferred that to the football field. We also have many multi-sport athletes from very successful programs at Penn, they have had great coaches and teammates and understand what winning culture looks like.”
Maggart built a first-year team into a champion.
“I feel like team chemistry was built quickly because of the type of athletes we have on the team and the culture that was created,” Maggart said. “Our athletes all wanted to be successful and backed that up by taking advantage of opportunities to be better. As a staff, we talked about creating a standard for the future. I think one of the biggest reasons our girls came together so quickly is we kept things fun and allowed them to enjoy being there, while still holding that standard.”
Maggart appreciated the work ethic of his players.
“What is special for me to coach a state championship team is seeing the work they put in pay off,” Maggart said. “The entire season these girls worked hard to not only learn but excel, they took the lead in motivating and holding each other accountable. Watching those girls celebrate every time a teammate made a play is outstanding. Standing on the field after the championship game watching them celebrate each other is why I enjoy coaching.”

Penn advanced to the State Championship game by defeating Fort Wayne Snider, 28-6.

Quinn Driscoll passed for three touchdowns.

Marin Horvath caught two touchdown passes.

Logan Rumble scored a rushing TD.

Lexi Werner scored a receiving TD.
Macy Little had two interceptions, and Kat Booker had one interceptions.
