The Penn Girls Track & Field team took down New Prairie on Tuesday, Apr. 25 with a score of 389 to 192.
The Lady Kingsmen had to face chilly and windy conditions all night, but were able to battle through it, and claimed a well deserved victory over New Prairie.
Penn Distance Runner Aubrey Morgan elaborated on the weather, “It was freezing, I could barely feel my body when I was running!”
The cold definitely made the meet a challenge, but the excitement of the meet didn’t hold back the competitors on the team.
Fellow Penn Distance Runner Morgan Collins said, “The competition was great, even though the weather sucked.”
Penn Sprinter Emma Heintzelman agreed, “The weather was awful for sprinters and sprinting in the cold is never fun.”
The Penn Girls Track and Field team will compete next against Elkhart on Tuesday, May 2.
