Penn Girls Swimming Makes a Splash in Win Over Elkhart

The Penn High School girls’ swim team dominated Elkhart with a 152-33 victory.

Molly Schuman and Alayna Riggins shined, each winning three events and helping Penn take charge of the competition.

“I felt really confident going into yesterday’s meet because there wasn’t heavy competition,” said Riggins. “It was kind of like a gut check to see how fast I could go racing the clock. I didn’t have any major goals, but for myself, I always want to be proud of knowing I gave it my all after every swim. So my smaller goals were just more technique-based, focusing on the little things like timing my turns right or keeping a steady stroke tempo.”

Penn Swim & Dive is looking to make another state run this year, after a runner-up finish last season.
