Penn Girls Basketball Dominates South Bend Riley

Published on

The Penn Kingsmen kept their winning streak alive with a 64-23 victory over the South Bend Riley Wildcats on Friday. It was the Kingsmen’s most dominant game of the season and a follow-up to a previous win against Riley.

The win was a full team effort, but Addison Hummel stood out with a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Hummel has been a rebounding star all season, pulling in at least eight boards in every game. Alivia Dawson also had a great performance, scoring 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting and adding four steals. Penn’s teamwork was on full display with 16 assists, far more than Riley’s six.

Even though Riley lost, Serenity Farmer had a strong game with 10 points and four steals. However, Penn’s offense and defense were just too much to handle.

The Kingsmen are now 4-0, scoring an average of 56.8 points per game so far. Riley, who started the season 3-0, took their first loss.

Penn will face a tough challenge when they host Warsaw at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Warsaw is a high-scoring team, averaging over 71 points per game. South Bend Riley has already played again, losing 49-37 to Concord on November 23.
