Penn Girls Varsity Soccer was victorious over Adams in a dominating match on Sept. 25.
The Lady Kingsmen controlled the game, winning 3-0.
Penn was hoping to improve their 5-4-3 record after last week’s NIC title battle.
From the first whistle on, the Kingsmen were filled with energy. Within the first 20 minutes, Penn junior Alexis Leader danced through the defenders and blasted a shot past Adams’s keeper Lily Santos-Navarro.
As the whistle blew for the next play, Penn was still euphoric and energetic. Not more than 20 seconds later, Penn’s Anika Guenther stole the ball from Adam’s backline and sent a soaring shot to the back of the net.
Within 20 seconds, Penn was up 2-0. Adams rocketed 2 shots toward goal in the first half, but Gwen Eiler dominated with a first-half shutout. Both teams went into halftime yearning for more.
At the beginning of the second half, Leader took possession from Adams and fired another shot, gracefully sliding into the net.
Adams had two shots on goal in the half, but goalie Janiah Juarez was able to maintain the shutout for Penn.
The game ended 3-0, and the Kingsmen’s record advances to 6-4-3.
