Girls Cross Country: Penn places third at season opener

The Penn Girls Cross Country Team excelled in its season opener in the power-packed Valley Invite in Terre Haute on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023.

Penn placed third in the event.

Indianapolis North Central placed first with 99 points. Bloomington South took second with 125 points, and Penn finished third with 157 points.

Two Penn runners placed in the Top 10.

Mary Eubank ran the 5K course in 19:06 to place fourth, and Ellie Stabnik placed 10th in 20:00.

Also competing for Penn were 29. Gabby Smith 21:14, 54. Lila Van Hoveln 21:56, 60. Aubrey Morgan 22:11, 92. Kaylie Hanyzewski 22:50, 105. Macey Gableman 23:00 and Jena Nash 23:06.

Penn placed first in the JV race, finishing with 39 points.

Three Penn runners placed in the Top 10 – 3. Kassidy Pentelow 22:39, 5. Sia Grewal 23:07, 6. Noralee Moock 23:15.

Other Penn JV competitors included 12. Amelia Little 23:57, 13. Luna Liu 23:58, 14. Ella Neuenschwander 24:01, 24. Morgan Pfeiffer 24:40.
