Clinton’s 18 points leads Penn past St. Joseph

Trinity Clinton scored 18 points and the unbeaten Penn Kingsmen took command in the second half to beat South Bend St. Joseph, 56-43, on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, in high school girls basketball Sectional action at Mishawaka.

Unbeaten Penn (23-0) plays LaPorte (16-7) at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at Mishawaka, for the Sectional Championship.

Penn used a 12-4 run in the second quarter to gain a 21-19 halftime lead.

Penn led 37-33 after three quarters, and then pulled away with a 19-10 run in the fourth quarter.

Jordyn Smith scored 12 points, Reganne Pate scored 9 points, and Antreese Shelton scored 8 points for Penn.
