Getting to Know: Samantha Watson

Samantha Watson, a sophomore here at Penn High School, and is a cross-country runner for the Kingsmen. She also uses her athletic ability for Lacrosse. She also takes part in clubs and extracurricular activities.

 

How do you mentally prepare before XC meets?

I Like to surround myself with friends and have a good time, and anything that distracts from the stressors that a cross-country meet may bring

 

What are your academic goals?

I want to maintain good grades throughout high school so I can attend the college I want to. I also hope to graduate with honors. 

 

What do you plan to achieve in your sports career at Penn

I wish to get better at all of the sports that I participate in, I want to find joy while keeping myself healthy, active, and injury-free.

 

What do your plans for after college look like?

I am not 100% positive about my future career yet, but I want to study to be an elementary school teacher.

 

What is the team environment like for XC?

It is very uplifting, everyone is very inspirational, kind-hearted, and welcoming. It motivates me to be better.

 

What are your goals for this upcoming lacrosse season

Slowly get back into it after coming off of an injury from last year, and try to strengthen my body in ways to prevent injury again

 

What do you like about going to Penn High School?

The opportunities Penn gives are good overall. I love the opportunity to be a part of a team, and I love pursuing academic success while being an athlete. Also, I just really enjoy the people I get to surround myself with.

 

What are some of your favorite things to do

 Nothing too crazy, i’m a homebody. I like hanging out with friends and drinking Dr. Pepper.

 

How do you stay busy when you’re not in season?

I like to hang out with friends and focus on my grades. 

 

What are you involved in outside of your athletic routine?

Im involved in FCA, Handwritten Hearts, and im also in Healthy Hands Healthy Heats.
