What advice would you give to younger athletes who aspire to follow in your footsteps?; The advice I would give younger athletes who aspire to follow in my footsteps is, do not take it too seriously, have fun, and do it for the girls around you no one else.
What role do your coaches and teammates play in your success?: I would say that my teammates are why I play the sport. They are what makes the sport fun and they give me all the motivation to keep going.
How do you prepare mentally and physically for a big game or competition?: I try not to do anything different so that I don’t work myself up and get in my head. But with that being said I do try and rest and recover a little bit more before a big game.
Who has been your biggest inspiration or role model in your sport?: My biggest inspiration and role model for the sport has been my older sister Jenny.
What is your favorite pre-game ritual or something you do for every game?: My favorite pre-game ritual is getting Starbucks.
What has been the most surprising lesson you’ve learned from being a student-athlete?: The most surprising lesson I have learned from being a student-athlete is that I would rather my teammates have success than me.
What are your long-term goals, both in your sport and academically?: I’m hoping to play soccer throughout my high school years and if a college opportunity comes about I will take it, but if not, I’m planning on going to a school for academics.
What skills have you learned from being a student athlete that you think will benefit you in the future?: Skills I have learned as team player, don’t listen to those who don’t want what’s best for you, and always prioritize yourself. These things will help me in the future so that I can work with others and be independent in my work.
How do you stay motivated during the off-season?: I don’t ever really have an offseason
Who is a player you look up to and why?: I look up to Sophia Smith because she is extremely hardworking and super humble.
