Elliot Lubker is a junior at Penn High School and is a member of the varsity girls volleyball team. She is a right side hitter and plays travel volleyball for NIVA. She also loves hanging out with her friends and playing with her dogs.
When did you start playing volleyball and why did you stick with it?
I started playing volleyball when I was in 8th grade and I stuck with it because I’ve met some of my favorite people and best friends.
What do you enjoy about playing for Penn volleyball?
I enjoy playing volleyball for Penn because our coaches push us hard everyday to keep working hard and be the best that we can be.
What types of things do you do in the offseason?
In the offseason, I play for NIVA and, when I’m free, I like to see my friends.
What are some of your pre game rituals?
My pregame ritual is I have to tie my shoes extra tight as many times as I have to until my feet have no room to move.
How would you describe the culture of the volleyball team?
The culture of our team is strengthened by the bond we have with each other and one of our phrases for this year is “compete with everything we do.”
What plans do you have for after high school?
After high school, I plan to go to college, have a successful career, and have lots of dogs.
What do you think the team is able to accomplish this year?
I think our team is able to accomplish another NIC conference victory and make it far in our state run.
Who are some of your biggest role models/motivations?
My biggest role model is my mom and a quote I live by is “life is tough, but so are you.”
How have your coaches helped you become the player you are today?
My coaches have helped me become the player I am today by building good relationships with them and them pushing me as hard as they can to keep improving.
How has this class of seniors impacted the team?
This senior class has impacted the team so much because they are all leaders and amazing people on and off the court.
