What is the most important lesson you’ve learned through Athletics?: I have learned that you have to work outside of your practices by doing speed training and weightlifting in order to improve your game.
What are your pre-game rituals?: I like to listen to pump music, I like to do a lot of stretching before we warm up.
Who is a player (at any level) you look up to, and why?: I look up to Michael Jordan a lot. He has a lot of great quotes that I like to read before I play in my games. He is a great role model for any athlete because of his experiences and his positive mindset.
What do you love about representing Penn High School?: Penn High School has a long history of winning athletics programs, and it is an honor to be able to be a member of the current volleyball team and try my best to continue our school’s legacy.
What traits do you love in a team leader?: I love humble and communicative leaders. I think it’s important for leaders to be forward-focused, and to have positive outlooks.
What advice would you give a freshman about Penn Athletics?: I would tell freshmen that everyone who attends Penn to play sports has a lot of great opportunities. There are a lot of people younger or older than you that wish that they had the opportunity to play at Penn. It will take a lot of work and dedication to be a student-athlete at Penn. Being a part of the volleyball program here at Penn has pushed me with my academics as well.
What is your favorite sports movie, and why?: I love watching the “Miracle Season” (volleyball movie). This movie has taught me that even through times in your life you just have to keep going.
What are you most looking forward to for this season?: Honestly, I am looking forward to being a part of this program again, and playing volleyball with my teammates while trying to improve my skills.
What do you love about your sport?: I love the teamwork that it takes to play this sport, and I love the people I am surrounded with when I play volleyball at Penn.
If you could have lunch with any living person, who would it be, and what would you talk about?: I would love to have lunch with Michael Jordan because I would ask him about all of the life lessons, and good and bad experiences that he has learned from.
