Ava Stebbins is a senior at Penn High School who is part of the Penn Girls Varsity Basketball Team. Through Stebbins four years at Penn High School, she has contributed to the team with her willingness to put her all into the game.
Stebbins is passionate whenever she steps on the court. When it comes to early morning practices to late night games, Stebbins always has a smile on her face ready to show her dedication. Stebbins is always trying to improve, even when it comes to the little things, like showing her personality and cheering her teammates on and off the court. Stebbins always shows her constant work ethic and inspires her teammate, Macy Little.
“Ava inspires me with her love for the game through her passion and energy. She gives her all every practice and game, and her enthusiasm affects me and makes me play harder and better,” Little said.
Stebbins has not just pushed herself, but also her teammates to new heights in games and practices. Her encouragement and positive attitude had helped build a stronger team spirit. With her positive mindset it correlates to her skills on the court, knowing she needs to believe in herself.
“I stay positive during games by focusing on things I can control like my effort and attitude. After I make mistakes I try my best to have a next play mentality and just focus on what I can do to support and help my team and teammates,” Stebbins said.
Stebbins loves the sport basketball because it challenges her in a positive way both physically and mentally. The fast-paced nature of the game keeps Stebbins entertained on the court and the adrenaline keeps her mind engaged.
Through Stebbins years she has become a talented player all around. Stebbins has had personal growth with each game that comes her way and continues to put in her best work for the game she loves.
