Football: Penn shuts out St. Joseph

Penn’s defense earned a shutout as the Kingsmen defeated South Bend St. Joseph 27-0 on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.

The Kingsmen are 7-2 and have a bye week before hosting Lake Central in first-round Class 6-A playoff action.

Penn’s Wild Bunch defense limited St. Joseph to 129 yards of total offense.

Vinny Freeman picked off a pass and Caden Klatt had a quarterback sack to lead the Penn defense.

Quarterback Kellen Watson scored on an 11-yard run and finished with 96 yards rushing.

Malachi Evans scored on a 2-yard TD run, and Cole Bennett caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Brody Cashen.

Dylan DeDario kicked field goals of 33 and 32 yards.
