Penn Hockey Opens 3-A State Tournament

The Penn Hockey Team opens the 3-A state tournament at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, against Carmel at the Ice Box. The Kingsmen and Greyhounds have clashed twice this season, tying the first game 3-3, and Penn winning the second game 1-0. If the Kingsmen beat Carmel in the first round, they will play the winner of Lake Central vs. Riley. If the Kingsmen lose, Penn plays the Lake Central-Riley loser.

The 3-A state tournament includes No. 1 seed Bishop Noll, No. 2 seed Lake Central, No. 3 seed Carmel, No. 4 seed LSJ, No. 5 seed Crown Point, No. 6 seed Penn, No. 7 seed Riley and No. 8 seed Evansville. The state tournament will be played Friday, Feb. 24, through Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Ice Box. The championship will take place on Saturday,  March 4, in Evansville.
