Boys Swimming: Penn 200 Freestyle Relay wins State Championship !!!!

Penn’s 200 Freestyle Relay claims the Blue Ribbons

Penn High’s 200 Freestyle Relay Team – Joseph Radde, Aaron Dies, Joel Cummins and Brock Zuyderwyk – earned the State Championship in the event at the IHSAA Boys Swimming/Diving State Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis on Saturday, February 29.

The Kingsmen earned their blue ribbons with a school-record time of 1:22.60, which is the second fastest time in the event in Indiana high school boys swimming history.

Penn stunned the power-packed field. The Kingsmen were seeded 11th entering the preliminaries.

Penn placed sixth overall in the team standings.

KINGSMEN STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS:

200 Freestyle Relay: 1. Penn (Joseph Radde, Aaron Dies, Joel Cummins, Brock Zuyderwyk) 1:22.60.

200 Medley Relay: 5. Penn (Aaron Dies, Connor Craig, Joseph Radde, Joel Cummins), 1:31.91.

200 Freestyle: 24. Matthew Howell 1:45.12.

50 Freestyle: 9. Aaron Dies 20.76.

Diving: 15. Tomas Salas 402.70.

100 Butterfly: 6. Joseph Radde 49.59.

100 Freestyle: 13. Brock Zuyderwyk 46.48.

500 Freestyle: 24. Nathan Grant 4:47.97.

100 Backstroke: 10. Joseph Radde 49.64; 12. Aaron Dies 50.04.

100 Breaststroke: 16. Connor Craig 59.36.
