Noah Hoppers is a senior on the Penn Soccer Team this season and has contributed greatly to an outstanding Kingsmen season in 2025.
What do you think Penn’s biggest advantage is over other teams this year?: Penn’s biggest advantage is that each player plays for each other rather than for themselves. We are also a strong team, both physically and mentally.
How has this big start to the season motivated you guys for the rest of the year?: It is a motivation for the rest of the year because we know that we can beat anyone that we play on any given day, as long as we work as a team.
Describe your relationship with your teammates?: I have a great relationship with all of my teammates. We are all so close that we are able to trust each other and know they will do the right things.
How do you spend your time when you’re not playing or practicing?: Outside of soccer, I spend my time with friends and my family. I value my connections with the people I love. I also have hobbies; when I have free time, it gives me something to do.
What do you do to stay academically motivated during the school year?: To stay academically motivated, I create a routine that I follow to get my schoolwork done. If I have a lot of work on a given day, I will take short breaks so that it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
How do you balance academics and athletics?: Balancing school and sports is challenging. Whenever I am home, I try to get as much work done as possible. When I have practice or a game, I forget about all my schoolwork and focus on the team. The key to balancing is to not procrastinate, or else my work will pile up.
If you didn’t play soccer, what would you play and why?: If I didn’t play soccer, I would focus strictly on track because that is the other sport I love and participate in during the school year.
What is your favorite pre-game music and why?: I don’t have a favorite song, but I prefer to listen to something that will calm me down. If I get nervous for a big game or meet, I need to calm myself down.
Who is your favorite soccer team and why?: My favorite soccer team is Barcelona, because when I grew up, that was the team that I always watched and talked about with all of my friends. Another reason is that my favorite player, Messi, was at Barcelona.
What is your goal for the rest of the season?: My goal for the rest of the season is to continue to help the team grow and make a positive impact. I want our team to continue to be successful and win postseason games.
