Michael Whedon is a 2023 graduate who played wide receiver for the Kingsmen football team. Whedon stood out for his effort and strength in the weight room his senior year.
Whedon said he wanted to be remembered for his sportsmanship and positivity no matter the situation.
Whedon said he appreciated his Penn Athletics experience.
“It was a way to better myself while having fun with friends and teammates,” Whedon said.
Whedon was also a part of the FCA at Penn and took a job at a P-H-M Elementary school as a Kids Club worker/helper.
Whedon also plays golf outside of school. His future plans involve golfing at the next level.
He plans on going to Ball State and studying Sports Management. He intends to walk onto the golf team.
He loved the competitive aspect of the sports he played. That’s why he’ll never forget when coach Cory Yeoman started singing “Taking Care of Business” after beating St. Joe. Whedon said, “It really represented how the game had gone that night.”
The biggest lesson he learned throughout his Kingsmen Athletic experience, is it is better to do what is best for the team than for yourself.
