The Penn High School Boys and Girls Wrestling teams’ annual Black-and-Gold Inter-Squad meet is set to start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23 in Penn’s Main Arena.
The Black-and-Gold is a big event for these two teams as wrestlers will fight for a starting spot on their respective teams. It is bigger than just this though. Members of the Long Black Line, former Penn wrestlers, will be honored by the community for setting an example of what a Penn athlete should strive to be.
“This is one of the greatest traditions for a part of our program,” Penn Wrestling Head Coach Brad Harper said. “Alumni come into the house and come to see our family, our program, and the excitement to see what our kids have been training. It’s an exciting opportunity for our kids to perform in front of our alumni, our family, and our program. The Long Black line is very special and the Black and Gold keeps the tradition alive. Be Extreme.”
