Six Penn wrestlers competed in the Virginia Beach National Duals this past summer.
Virginia Beach Duals is one of the toughest dual tournaments in the nation. More than 4,700 wrestlers and 323 teams compete in the event.
The six wrestlers from Penn that competed in this event were Nate Hadary, Tanner DeMien, Jeffrey Harper, Preston Risner, Chris Momatiuk, and Tate Johnson.
Penn coach Brad Harper said that the Kingsmen wrestlers excelled at the prestigious Virginia Beach Tournament.
“We have some outstanding wrestlers on our Penn team,” Harper said. “One of the wrestlers who did really well is Tanner DeMien. He was very explosive and proved that he can beat anyone in the nation that steps on the mat with him.”
“ Another Penn wrestler that did well is Preston Risner, he put all of his hard work and training together at Virginia Beach.”
“If these two seniors put everything together come state tournament time, watch out,” Harper said.
