The Penn at Mishawaka boys soccer game was postponed due to a SWAT situation in a nearby neighborhood on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Mishawaka police had players, coaches, officials and fans at the Baker Park soccer complex leave the area, and closed roads in the Byrkit and 12th St. vicinity.
“Safety and security is always our top priority for our students,” Penn High School athletic director Aaron Leniski said. “We appreciate the handling of situation by Mishawaka officials.”
Penn was leading 3-0 at halftime. The second half will be played at a later date.
Penn’s goals were scored by Aron Janko, Jackson Hopkins and John Graham.
The Kingsmen JV beat Mishawaka 9-0.
