Calvin Hart is a sophomore Cross Country runner for the No. 13 Penn Kingsmen.
What is your goal time for the end of your sophomore year, and how do you plan to keep improving to reach that time you want?
I plan to be under 18 minutes by the end of the year.I plan on getting the proper nutrients, getting the right amount of sleep, and having more consistent runs.
How do you plan on preparing for the upcoming meet after a mediocre race last Saturday?
I am going to approach the upcoming meet by sticking with people who run a similar race to me.
What place do you want to finish for Penn and do you feel like you can reach that goal this year?
I want to finish at the 18th spot for Penn at the end of this year, and if I continue to work hard then I think it is obtainable.
Who are your main targets on the team, and how do you plan on getting past them on the team?
The people I want to pass on the team are Owen Newman, Nate Hannah and John Gutierrez, I plan on passing them by training with them and competing with them.
How is the team preparing to go down to Terre Haute?
By making sure to work hard at the beginning to be ready by the end of the season.
How do you keep going during races when you don’t feel you can keep going?
I think about how good it will feel once the race is over.
What are you most excited about leading up to this race?
I am excited to run the flat, fast course and the pasta party the night before.
What is your plan for the upcoming race and how are you preparing for it?
Strategy is to go out fast with everyone and try to maintain that pace.
What are you taking away from the advance people are giving you?
Noah Schafer- said to not let bad races dwindle on you.
What is your advice for all the freshmen coming into Penn?
Make sure you train consistently and with other people to make it easier.
