When did you start playing tennis and why?

I started in the fall of 8th grade because I wanted to play in high school.

If you had to choose someone who inspired you to play/practice tennis who would it be and why?

My mom inspired me to play tennis because she played in college and she showed me the benefits of playing

How do you practice your tennis outside of school?

I go to a tennis club, sbrc, and participate in a group drill during the off-season

What is your motivation for playing tennis?

My motivation for playing tennis is the drive to make varsity and be a part of the tournament at the end of the year

What is your long term goal with tennis?

I want to become a captain of the team, and make it to state as a member of varsity

What’s your most memorable experience playing tennis?

My most memorable experience playing tennis is the trip to Culver academy where we played a tournament. It was a fun bus ride and team experience

What do you enjoy most about tennis and why?

I enjoy the team aspect about tennis the most. Being a part of the team is a lot of fun, and I’ve built many relationships from the team.

What is one negative thing about tennis?

One negative thing about tennis is the amount of time it takes to get good. For other sports, you can make varsity by junior year by just starting freshman year. For tennis, it takes multiple years before you get to high school to be on varsity or even have a chance at varsity.

How do you balance academics with tennis?

I balance academics with tennis by effectively using my time. There is a match or practice every weekday, so I just study and do homework after it.

Do you enjoy tennis more or less than when you first started? Why or why not?

I enjoy tennis more than when I first started because of the shorts you are able to hit. You can also rally longer which is more fun.
