What is the most important lesson you’ve learned through Athletics?: Setbacks are bound to happen. What separates the champions and your regular athlete is how they respond to those setbacks and how they overcome them.
What motivates you to do the sport you do?: My friends and I get to go to war together every day and we take all of our bottled up emotions and feed it into wrestling. It’s really a brotherhood like no other and couldn’t be more thankful for it.
Who is a player (at any level) you look up to, and why?: Spencer Lee. The man is the baddest man on the planet. He won 3 NCAA D1 titles and won them with no ACLs.
What do you love about representing Penn High School?: Penn High School offers an elite program and every time I get to represent Penn we send a statement to everyone who witnesses us wrestle.
What traits do you love in a team leader?: Someone who will go out of their way to do the right thing and someone able to call out people for the right reasons.
What advice would you give a freshman about Penn Athletics?: Stick with the program. Great things take time so don’t give up when you don’t see progress or if things don’t go exactly as planned.
What is your favorite sports movie, and why?: I really like the whole “Rocky” series. Showcases grit and it also was just a great series.
What is your favorite pig-out food?: Mac and cheese all day. I am fat for mac and cheese lol.
What do you love about your sport?: It’s brutal but yet peaceful at the same time.
Why did you choose the sport you currently do? Why did you stick with it?: Baseball never treated me well as a person and I decided to go all in on wrestling the end of my freshman year and I have never looked back. Wrestling is brutal, but the bonds I have made over the years with my teammates and the memories will be unmatched and I will be forever grateful for that.
