Kenny Welsh is a freshman at Penn who is part of the football team. So far into the season he has scored 4 touchdowns in 3 games.
Why do you play football?
“I play football because it was pushed upon me at a young age, then I soon fell in love with it the more I played. I have relatives who were in the NFL and I strive to be just like them and more”.
What other sports do you play?
“Besides football I play baseball, I run track, and wrestle. As high school continues I will most likely have to stop playing some of those”.
What does it feel like when you get the ball?
“When I get the ball on a handoff or reception my mind immediately shuts off any other thoughts and I’m all about trying to find the best way to score. The rush of adrenaline and excitement is incomparable to most other things”.
Why did you choose to play running back?
“I chose to play running back because I love being able to make the big plays and the little ones too for my other teammates. The feeling of breaking a run into the secondary or pancake blocking someone while blocking for my other teammates is incomparable to other offensive positions in my opinion”.
How long have you played football and why?
“I have played football since I was 5 years old, starting in flag football”.
