Penn’s Freshmen Football Team defeated Elkhart 28-6, which puts them at 4-0 on the season.
“Playing the same team twice in 2 weeks is difficult but the team handled it well,” Penn Freshmen Football Head Coach Keith O’Connell said. “We didn’t play last week, so we were a little rusty, but I was glad to see the defense come up with three turnovers. Elkhart has some playmakers and we held them in check. Also, our offense got going and we had a nice balance of runs and passes.”
Jonathan Searfoss picks off an Elkhart pass and returned it for 19 yards for a touchdown.
Alex Vespie raced for touchdowns of 24 and 1 yards runs. Cohen Wysong scored a touchdown on a one-yard run.
Carter Good kicked four extra points.
Zayne Neidlinger also had an interception.
