Published on

Penn’s Freshmen Football Team used a late defensive stand to hold on for a 7-6 victory.

St. Joe had a first-and-goal on the 8-yard line with 2:11 left in the game, but the Kingsmen defense held them to secure the win.

Lucas Hershberger had a 26 yard passing touchdown from Banks Asleson for the Kingsmen score.

Kingston Korenstra and Damar Peck recovered fumbles for the Kingsmen.

Eli Koecke had an interception.

“What a great opportunity to play a team like St. Joe,” Penn Freshmen Football head coach Keith O’Connell said. “This was the first time we’ve ever played them, so that was great. They have great facilities, great coaching and a great team. This was a great experience for our players and what a great defense stand to ice the game!”
