The Penn Kingsmen extended their dominance by capturing their 24th consecutive Boys Tennis sectional championship and 31st overall, sweeping both South Bend Adams and Marian at Penn.
In the opener, Penn defeated Adams 5-0, led by Quinn Lippert’s 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and strong performances from Dylan Albert (6-1, 6-3) and Will Denniston (6-0, 6-1).
Doubles teams Aaron Yoon & Josh Weaver and Jacob Kyle & Ben Stambaugh sealed the sweep with straight-set victories.
The Kingsmen were even more dominant in the final, blanking Marian 5-0.
Lippert was perfect with a 6-0, 6-0 victory, while Albert (6-2, 6-0) and Denniston (6-0, 6-3) secured the singles sweep.
Yoon & Weaver (6-0, 6-1) and Kyle & Stambaugh (6-0, 6-0) closed out the doubles for another commanding win.
Penn will now advance to regionals after continuing one of the longest sectional championship streaks in Indiana high school tennis.
The Kingsmen play Concord in the first round of the regional on Tuesday, October 7, at 5 p.m. at NorthWood High School. The winner will advance to the championship, which will be played on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 5 p.m.
