The Penn Kingsmen Boys Tennis Team enters sectional play with history on its side.
Having won 23 straight sectional titles and 30 overall, Penn once again looks to defend its crown as the postseason begins this Tuesday, Sept. 30, and Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Penn. The Kingsmen open state tournament action against South Bend Adams on Tuesday, Sept. 30, with the sectional championship match set for Wednesday, Oct. 1.
On the other half of the bracket, Marian takes on Mishawaka in what should be a competitive first-round matchup.
Penn has already proven its dominance against local rivals this season, sweeping Marian 5-0 and topping Adams 4-1. The Kingsmen have yet to face Mishawaka, making a potential matchup with the Cavemen an intriguing storyline heading into the championship.
The winner of the Penn sectional will advance to the Northwood Regional and play the winner of the Concord sectional first round.
