Penn’s Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed at the State Championships in Terre Haute.
The Penn Girls Cross Country team placed 12th at the State Championships. The girls were led by an outstanding performance from Julie Smith. Smith crossed the finish line in 17th place with a time of 19:09. Mary Eubank followed in 44th place with a time of 19:39. Julia Economou (20:05) was 78th, Ellie Stabnik (20:06) was 81st, and Kaylie Hanyzewski (21:47) rounded out the scoring for the Kingsmen in 171st place.
The Penn Boys Cross Country team placed 17th at the State Championship meet. The Kingsmen were led by Mariano Retzloff, who ran the muddy course in 16:33 and was in 54th place for the Kingsmen. Carter Kaser followed Retzloff with a time of 17:05, and was 103rd. Nick Probst (17:21), Jason Juarez (17:28), and Hudson Kaser (17:45) rounded out the scoring for the Kingsmen.
