Wildcat Classic Invitational Meet Preview

The Penn Kingsmen Boys and Girls Cross Country teams will travel to take on some of the state’s top talent at the Wildcat Invite on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind., on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025.  

 The Penn Boys will race in the Boys Red Varsity race at 8:30 a.m., and the Kingsmen will follow in the Girls Red Varsity race at 9 a.m. 

The Boys come into this battle ranked No. 21 in the state. The Kingsmen will be taking on Noblesville, which is No. 10 in the nation and second in the state. Columbus North is ranked No. 15 in the nation and No. 1 in the state. Hamilton Southeastern is ranked strongly at No. 7. This weekend will be a very good estimate of how the Kingsmen’s state run will look.   

Penn is looking to bounce back after a tough weekend in West Lafayette, taking runner-up to Westfield in their first loss of the season. 

The Kingsmen Girls Cross Country Team come into this tough meet facing even more ranked teams. The Kingsmen are ranked No. 4 in Indiana. They will face Valparaiso, Lake Central, Harrison, and Columbia City who are ranked No. 18, No. 8, No. 12 and No. 23 respectively. Penn is looking to dominate and keep climbing the state rankings before the state tournament begins.  

The Kingsmen are looking forward to another battle test after they were narrowly edged out by Zionsville at the State Preview in Terre Haute this past Saturday.  

This weekend is poised to test the Kingsmen.
