Boys Basketball: Off-season works helps Price make big strides

Published on

Junior Forward Makale Price had an exciting Boys Basketball season as the work he put in during the offseason is paying off.

The 6-foot-8 tower of power averaged 8.6 points a game and 4.7 rebounds a game. He shot an impressive 81 percent from the free-throw line and led the team with 27 blocked shots.

Price did a lot of agility drills to improve his speed and move around the court more quickly and precisely. It definitely showed as he was able to get into open space to set up easy shots for himself.

“Makale has become a way better finisher, and he’s been more aggressive around the basketball while rebounding,” Kingsmen Senior Leader and teammate Christian Bonner said. “He has a better attitude and composure during games and has become a better shooter.”

Price emphasized how he’s learned to use his length to be a lockdown defender. He said that he sees himself continuing his basketball career in college in the coming years, and he wants to major in business.
